The 2023 NRL Draw

The 2023 NRL draw has been released. It has some interesting elements, especially for North Queensland who made a mockery of ladder predictions and top eight predictions last year.

They will have to face Roosters, Dogs and Eels twice each season. This will be a good test for them early on in the season.

Round 1

The Broncos have a lot to prove in 2023 and this opener will be a big test. New coach Nathan Brown will hope to evoke the same type of reaction from his players as Todd Payten did last year.

Manly looked fluid in attack and tough in defence with Daly Cherry-Evans’ short kicking game providing plenty of attacking options. They’ll be favourites against the Dragons, who will hope to improve under new coach Anthony ‘Hook’ Griffin.

Round 2

The NRL draw outlines the NRL Telstra Premiership schedule round-by-round for the 2023 season. It includes team byes, State of Origin fixtures and the standalone weekend for NRL Magic Round.

Teamlists from 4pm Tuesday, with late mail and updated squads. Jacob Saifiti, Peta Hiku, Scott Drinkwater and Isaiah Papali’i are all guaranteed suspension from this round unless they challenge their charges.

Round 3

After a thumping loss to the Titans, the Knights are in need of a win. They can bolster their season hopes by beating the Rabbitohs and making it three straight wins.

The final numbers don’t paint a true picture of how poor the Broncos were against the Dragons but their nine errors and six-again infringements conceded were alarming. They’ll need to improve drastically if they are going to be competitive.

Round 4

The Sea Eagles’ improved defensive performance should give them confidence to overcome a Melbourne side which struggled to create opportunities in their 24-8 loss. They can’t afford a repeat of their poor start to the season though.

Cam Munster’s return to the Storm line-up will provide some much needed calm in attack. He’ll lead the team with Jonah Pezet a close second. They lose Jahrome Hughes but welcome back Isaiah Papali’i, Adam Doueihi and Luke Brooks.

Round 5

The NRL draw is a complete breakdown of all NRL Telstra Premiership fixtures, round-by-round, that take place over the now 27 week regular season. It includes the three match State of Origin series and team byes.

Brisbane tore through a passive Tigers defence to chew up post-contact metres and generate second phase play. They backed their new-found running game to produce the goods late as they chased a winner.

Round 6

The NRL draw is a breakdown of all the games taking place during each Round of the 2023 standard season. Follow the links to each NRL Round for a full match preview and NRL Tipping as we count down to the NRL finals.

An eye-opener for Manly who are far from the finished product. The Panthers ripped them to shreds down the edges in yardage and created multiple opportunities in good ball. Jacob Liddle and Jack Bird made excellent contributions through the middle, challenging ruck defenders and finding metres.

Round 7

It was another tough game of football for the Bulldogs who matched it with Parramatta in defence but weren’t as effective with their good-ball attack. A clunky completion rate and a lack of fifth tackle options let them down in the end.

It’s Teamlist Tuesday with squads and late mail live from 4pm.

Round 8

The 2023 NRL draw has been released showing all the Rugby League fixtures, round-by-round, across the newly expanded 27 week regular season. There are still two weekends of representative NRL games but the ANZAC round has been eliminated from this year’s schedule.

Penrith were asked to dig deep and it paid off as they defended well and got the ball rolling late. Nelson Asofa-Solomona deserves a lot of the credit here for turning the game around.

Round 9

After a win against the Knights in Newcastle, the Eels return to Suncorp Stadium for a tough match up with the Broncos. The line has sat at 8.5, but we expect the Broncos to bounce back with a big win here.

The Dragons are bucking the trend this season, but they’ll still have to be on their best form to beat the struggling Sea Eagles at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. That’s why we’re backing them to get the job done here.
